Hello friend,
This is Clematis.
The name Clematis originates from the Greek word klematis, meaning vine. While they are generally known to be vigorous climbers, this particular Clematis is in a mutualistic relationship with a bush along one of the forest paths. (I imagine, as an animist, that said bush takes pleasure in hosting such beauty.)
I’ve been keeping an eye on Clematis’ progress over the last month, and I’m surprised by how she has not strayed beyond the green boughs of her lover. She’s a vine after all, and could, if she wanted to, run across the path and spill over into my neighbour’s yard. She could capture the Arrowwood Viburnum or overwhelm the Azalea.
Instead, she chooses to remain in this intimate entanglement, where her luscious beauty nourishes those in her immediate environment.
Clematis made me think about how there’s a temptation to declare our value, loudly and in all four directions, when the best place to show our value is in the place we currently inhabit. And by this, I also include the tiny corner of the internet you may occupy.
If Clematis is teaching me anything, it’s this:
The richness of your life doesn’t depend on its size, but on how you fill your territory. The love, beauty and presence you give to those you share space with and to the land.
This brings me to Venus, the principle of beauty, desire and values. Venus enters Taurus this week on the 5th. Venus is at home in Taurus, where she is a wild tangle of pheromones and silk sheets. Taurus is the sign of natural desire as opposed to acculturated (shaped by culture and group behaviour) or “civilized” desire. Libra, Venus’ other home, is where you get to cooperate, civilize elements and fulfill others’ desires. If you want to name your purest desires, look at your Taurus house. You’ll find your Taurus house is a beehive of nectar, and that you, like the bee whose life depends on nectar, need the things represented by your Taurus house for well-being.

The Week Ahead
*All times are Pacific Time
“What is happening in your innermost self is worthy of your entire love; somehow you must find a way to work at it.”
-Rainer Maria Rilke
1.
The elements of Air and Fire dominate this week. This means you’re probably looking at a long to-do list and working through a backlog of information (study materials, articles, blogs, podcasts…). I recommend you turn to the element of Water for help. Instead of treating your tasks like items in a container that needs to be emptied, treat them like items that are floating by in a stream1. Pick a few choice items from this stream and work on those.

This week offers many opportunities to recognize whether or not your wounded self is calling the shots or if you’re responding from a place of presence and inner wisdom. Your wounded self is the part of you that feels attacked and reacts strongly and immediately to situations and words. You may engage in negative self-talk and/or you may find yourself replaying or echoing critical voices from the past. Acknowledge that mistakes are part of the process of growth and move forward with compassion.

Happy June!
Today is a mixed bag. The day starts out well but when the Leo Moon squares Uranus in Taurus later this afternoon some unexpected drama may sour the mood. Love wounds/unresolved relationship issues or issues around self-worth may arise when Venus conjoins Chiron in Aries around 1pm.
Moon enters Virgo 8pm
An excellent moon for spending quality time by yourself.
Monday, 2 June
First Quarter Moon 8:40pm
First Quarter moons present us with a choice and the Sun in Gemini square the Moon in Virgo says that contrary to what you think or what someone else may say today, you don’t need more information. Work with what you have, but focus on the practical aspects.
Tuesday, 3 June
No major event
Wednesday, 4 June
Moon enters Libra 6:38 pm
Venus in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini 8pm

Mercury in Gemini square North Node in Pisces 10:03am
‘What is worry, at its core, but the activity of a mind attempting to picture every single bridge that might possibly have to be crossed in future, then trying to figure out how to cross it?” - Oliver Burkeman
Try not to live mentally ten steps ahead of yourself.
Mercury in Gemini sextile Mars in Leo 3:09pm
If you listen to your own heart, maybe you’ll understand someone else’s actions or motivation today.
Venus enters Taurus 9:42pm
I’ll say this…you will want to honour Venus by smelling the roses, eating the roses, and then lying in a bath of rose petals with or without your lover.
Friday, 6 June
Mercury sextile Chiron 4:55pm
An excellent day for a therapeutic or coaching session or for self-reflection. Seek out connections where you can be authentic and vulnerable.
Saturday, 7 June
No major event.

Know Thy Will - Saturn in Aries Workshop
Date: Saturn’s Day 14 June, 2025
Time: 9:30 am-11am
I have reopened this workshop. Saturn is the planet that governs fate – or, more accurately, our inner programming and our response to external events. As you know by now, Saturn entered Aries on May 24th (PDT) and for the next three years, your consciousness will be directed towards the Aries part of your birth chart. Saturn helps you get what you really want, but only delivers when you have established the necessary psychological and material structures.
I cover a lot of ground in this workshop, including the magical implications of Saturn in Aries. I opened this workshop for a cohort of 12 people, and at this time of writing, there are still 8 spaces available.
