Venus retrograde, Mercury in Virgo and Full Moon in Aquarius

Most of my follow up conversations with clients last week revolved around Venus who as you know is retrograde. In one of my sessions I heard myself tell a client that what Venus asked of her at this time was exquisite care. 

Venus retrograde asks for rest. This is especially true if Venus is your Time Lord this year or if your Moon is Venus-ruled. The Moon rules our emotions and biological rhythms and if your natal Moon is in Taurus or Libra she answers to Venus. 

Prioritize exquisite care of self and others. Remember Venus loves company. Spend time with loved ones in ways that encourage relaxation and reflection. Pack a picnic, go camping, enjoy a spa day and/or make something from scratch like lasagne. And let music play in the background. 

Are you feeling the need to rest more and/or are you feeling the need to indulge in small pleasures? 

We begin the month with 5 retrograde planets and end the month with 7 retrograde planets.  We have Venus, Chiron, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto retrograde at this time and Mercury will retrograde the same day the Sun enters Virgo (23 August). Uranus will station retrograde on the 28th. 

Tomorrow (1 August)  the Full Moon in Aquarius sees the Sun in Leo opposite Moon in Aquarius in a T-square with Jupiter in Taurus. The Moon is in Saturn and Uranus-ruled Aquarius. Saturn is adorned with seaweed in Pisces and Uranus is wearing eco-leather in Taurus.

This is generally speaking a lunation that encourages creativity and social interaction.

Venus Rx is square Uranus and trine the North Node bringing an element of surprise that also feels fated or meant to be. Maybe you find yourself suddenly attracted to someone. Maybe a friend becomes a lover. This may very well be the case if Leo is your 5th House.  A disruption of some sort culminates at this time. Maybe a child has moved out of home or an elderly parent has moved in. Look at your Taurus house for a clearer description of what has ‘caught you by surprise”. It could be that you had an unexpected expense.

Mars is in an exact trine with Jupiter.  An opportunity for advancement has presented itself to you and you have either grabbed it with both hands or you are hesitating because it comes with strings attached.

Uranus sextiles Neptune and trines Pluto. Uranus trine Pluto assists in the dismantling of any narrative or belief that keeps you “duty-bound” to societal norms that prohibit your self-expression. 

I read somewhere a long time ago that you don’t need to walk around with green hair for people to “see” your green hair.  This Full Moon asks you to embrace your weirdness.

Mercury is exalted in Virgo where they dig for details and analyze data. You may find yourself having a great time creating spreadsheets or updating your budget. Saturn opposite Mercury adds discipline but he may be increasing doubt. Also be on the lookout for taking things literally and missing out on the humor. When Mercury travels through Virgo they have fun accumulating information and because the Sun is in Leo at this time, Mercury is busy accumulating information that serves your Leo house. Make sure that you are using this information to make significant improvements and to shine a light in that area of your life (natal Leo house).
