Hello dear reader,
The current astrology is hitting my natal Mars and my 2nd and 8th houses, which means I have been forced to prioritize rest. So dear reader, this weekend’s letter is different and does not include daily horoscopes. I do hope, though, that you will find the following guidance helpful. I will be back at work and in your inbox on Wednesday, the 25th.
Tomorrow’s New Moon in Virgo is a partial solar eclipse, and unlike the 7th’s gentle lunar eclipse, this is a challenging eclipse. Occurring at 29º Virgo, the most stressful of degrees associated with endings, the Sun and Moon, conjoined with the South Node, are in opposition to Saturn in Pisces. The South Node, or the Dragon’s Tail, is the point of decrease, elimination, loss, purification and… exhaustion.
This eclipse brings closure to some areas governed by your Virgo house. This is the 2nd New Moon in Virgo, which means you’ve been given another opportunity to get your (Virgo) house in order. Mars at the anaretic degree of Libra is in a semi-sextile to this New Moon, and that is adding to your frustration or stress around lack of harmony or understanding between people, in your closest relationships or in your creative endeavours. Venus in Virgo brings a reward, though, for those who show compassion to self and others.

On Monday, the Sun glides into Libra and we celebrate the Autumn Equinox/Mabon.
I made a video for you on Monday’s Libra Ingress (Sun enters Libra). It includes horoscopes for your Sun and Rising signs. I also talk about the 2 of Swords, which is the minor arcana card associated with Libra I (first decan of Libra).
Rosh Hashana begins Monday evening, the 22nd, and ends on the evening of the 24th. While Rosh Hashana is known as the Jewish New Year, you should consider celebrating this holiday regardless of your religion or faith. There is a reason this holiday falls on the new moon closest to the autumnal equinox, and that is because every change in season is an opening…a metaphorical “opening of the gates of heaven” when the Creator “moves from the throne of judgement to the throne of mercy” and acts with compassion and grace. Rosh Hashana translates to “Head of the Year,” and Jewish mystics believe that your thoughts - what is on your mind and rattling around between your ears - on this holiday determine your experiences over the coming year. Do your best to release all negative feelings and thoughts before Monday evening so that you are thinking good thoughts about yourself and others, and that you act from a place of compassion. In other words, sit on your own throne of mercy and be merciful and forgiving.
(And yes, please follow that order. A thought can only change if you change your feelings about something or someone.)
Feeling precedes thinking.
The Moon shapes our thoughts, Mercury delivers the product of our thoughts.
“All the month of Elul, before eating and sleeping, a person should look into his soul and search his deeds, that he may confess.”
- Maharal of Prague
Use this weekend, while the Sun is still in Virgo, to “search your soul” for where you have been self-critical and judgmental of others.
You may want to stand before a mirror, preferably naked, on Monday evening, and quote Psalm 139, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” until you feel yourself light up from within. Until you remember you are a being of light.
The astrology for Monday’s Libra Ingress, clearly asks us to let go of unhelpful beliefs and to “change our minds”. (Sedna retrograde, conjunct Uranus retrograde in Gemini, trine Sun in Gemini, and Pluto in Aquarius). If you want to know more about Sedna, click here.
That is all for now, dear reader.
Wishing you health & happiness & inspiration!
P.S. If you’re a subscriber to my website blog, keep an eye out for an email from me on the equinox!
Thank you Yolanda and rest well!
